Add fuel to the fire had his latest solo show Thursday last week at Restart, Lisboa. Lucky to have been to the studio just days before, there was no way I’d miss the premiere last week. With an imagery that picks up on our childhood toys, he gave all of those past objects a futuristic revamp exclusively for this “school comeback”.
So jump inside for some pics if you didn’t made it for the inauguration day.

INKIE just had his solo show in Lisboa last Saturday night at Bristol Lisboa Gallery. I got the chance to meet the artist, and had a wonderful chat with him listening to the experiences from the UK where he had also painted with our Portuguese artist KLIT. Great guy indeed. Go check his show if you have the chance. Meanwhile, here’s some pics from the night.

Fidel’s exhibition just had it’s debut this Saturday but will remain there for almost a month. Be sure to drop by and get a word or two with the artist and discover the underworld he has created in these screenprints.
But just in case you don’t have the opportunity to show up, here’s a sample of what you can find inside.

So yesterday night was Corleone’s “This is not Graffiti” inauguration night as you might know.
When I got to the Montana gallery, it was already fully packed inside and outside. I started recognizing some faces and got in to some chats that left me in a good mood. Some minutes later I decide to go in to finally see the exhibition by myself. As I reach my camera to start snapping some pics of the night, I came across this horrific scenario: lens of the machine was “broken”! This immediately killed the mood for the night. I was totally pissed that my machine was at the repair shop just 2weeks ago, and had to go back now for a whole different reason. After more than an hour of pulling the machine out, trying to put it in place and all, I placed my hands to it and heard this ‘CRACK’ sound. I said: it’s either broken or fixed, but can someone please check for me? So… if you believe I got it fixed through the night jump inside for the pics. If not, check it anyway. You might be surprised!

We got to Almada not much after the opening of the event. Since my camera is acting all crazy the pics are a mix of mine and Pedro S. Rodrigues, an habitué contributor.
Wallmada was put up to showcase the artwork of some of Almada’s artists, whose names are Hesp, Skran, MinimalAnimal, Frame, Ayer, Phale & Felix.

After circulating the street up and down, as I hadn’t took the number with me, I was finding hard to believe I was in the right street, but that I couldn’t find the gallery itself. So I started asking the nearby workers. The first had no idea what I was talking about, so I decided the next door would be easier, as it was arts related. End up, they had no idea what I was talking about either, and themselves were in the art business. Last option, roam the street up again, and that’s when I catch a door shutter being raised, and realize it was a bit soon for the opening time. Can you believe that I was 2 doors away from the gallery and no one knew where it was? Anyway, all I have to say is that from all the exhibitions I had been to, Lazarides was by far the best with its exhibition from Faile and Bast.

Stolen Space was the hardest one to find. I had been for minutes circulating the streets without finding it out. When I finally found it, I was happy to discover a couple of Kid Acne paste-ups in the next door, since he’s one of my favorite artists for a long time. Anyway, Stolen Space was hosting the “Original Cultures”, a show composed by Erica Il Caine, DEM and Will Barras.

Signal Gallery is hosting Case’s newest show “Never Odd or Even”, and was almost closing time when I just got there. Still, there was plenty of time for some quick shots, as the gallery itself isn’t that big. Case is a member of the Ma’Claim crew, world known from their photo-realistic graffiti works, and who’s members have also been here in Lisboa for one of the VSP editions.
