Porto Abandonado

This project has just recently caught my attention, specially due to the fact that Lisboa is in the same state.
Porto Abandonado has an interesting take on the problem of the city.

And the last Friday of the month means more Random Lisa pics from yet another eyes. The third edition of Random Lisa is brought to you by Lara, yet another street-art enthusiast that takes photography as an hobby. So jump inside… you’re welcome in the streets of Lisboa…

And this is why I love the internets. If you get it right, people will engage and help you out as it happened yesterday when someone reached to me with a link to the making of that beautiful tile piece in Lisboa. Step inside to see the video, and hopefully one of you will recognize the artist and let us know more about him. Plus, tomorrow Lisa Random will have another piece from this artist, so stay tuned!

And right after the announcement for the new show by Tae this Saturday, here’s a little teaser just to let you wanting more. Expect logos, typography and surely many triangles and squares.

“I’m better, thank you” is a piece that’s just been found in Lisboa. Hit me up if you know who the author is.
This just made me smile.
UPDATE: DedoNoGatilho has a pic from 2006, so this means this piece has stood up for 4 years, which is even more impressive!

“When the new pixel art intersects with the ancient art of tile the result is the PIXELEJO.” It seems like the Portuguese tile is appearing everywhere. I’ve left you with Recuperarte project before, and I’ll leave you with yet another amazing one where “Type meets Tiles” from Ana Areias. But for now, here’s the latest Pixelejo works on the streets of Lisboa.

Galeria Dama Aflita, a gallery that’s been putting up amazing exhibitions every time they do it (which unfortunately I never had the pleasure to go), will host a new show this Saturday from artist Tae. This gallery focuses on illustration, and this is the first time they’re welcoming someone who also has their work put up in the streets. Although I do expect to see lot’s of illustrations from Tae, I’m also curious to see what bit’n'pieces from the street he’ll bring into the gallery.
The gallery will close on the 15th of August, but due to the nature of the exhibition, it can be seen from the outside until the 28th. You can check some of his work inside.

And it seems like Remed is getting the little bug of painting in Lisboa when you see “Remed Loves Lisboa” written on a wall. He has just got back to the streets for more with Pedro Matos aka Drone, who took a different approach on the walls. By the way, Remed is set to show is works in Lisboa later this year with Yellow Pants Gallery.

Pedro Matos went to San Francisco for White Walls Gallery group show “As they see it” and brought back some pics with him. Jump inside to take a look at them.
