Don’t know if you’ve been paying attention to tv lately, but if you’re in Portugal (and Spain I believe), Odisseia channel has been showing every Friday a special urban art video. I’m late when I say Roadsworth doc just screened last week (no reruns scheduled for now) but you can still catch the last of the batch, and possibly a cool one. Haven’t seen it either, so try and catch it Friday 29th at 17h, and a repeat on Sunday 30th at 13h. Check the trailer inside.

Bench. a British clothing brand that just set foot in Portugal more specifically in Porto, is having a brand new art gallery space and it’s fully dedicated to street art for this first show. The art gallery will inaugurate this Saturday 14th with the following artists involved: 157, CAOS, CAVER, DESO, EIME, EKO, LIG ONE, MESK, NAXA, OKER, PARIZ, RUA, SEKA, SMILE, TEJO & UBER. As I had previously announced on FB, the Lisa Random edition is back and will have an ongoing edition every last Friday of each month. And the best thing is, there will be more people who photograph on the streets involved. This means I won’t be the only one in charge of this edition, and will also give space for the ones who really scout the streets daily, looking for that one new piece of street art. Random Lisa means random pics from Lisboa with no order what so ever. For this second edition, we have I Wall You as the result of a month of pictures around the city.

Lx Factory Open Day this Friday 14th will have live paintings on the 4th Floor with Hesp, Felix, Minimalanimal, Erom, Plus, Skran, Ayer & Frame. Check the flyer inside.

Some works that seem to have passed by me unnoticed are the amazing posters created by Janina Brandão last summer, with a take on the state of the art in Portugal, for her final school project. This was done in Porto and is exactly what I wanna see being done more and more in Portugal. Good works showing up on the streets.

Almada, home to many Portuguese street-artists, will be hosting a street-art exhibition this Saturday 20th with Skran, MinimalAnimal, Phale, Hesp, Felix, Frame, Ayer & special guests to add up. More info inside.

Although Banksy’s movie is on top of my list, and sadly I’ll miss the premiere for 2 days while in London, there’s new documentaries/movies worth watching and this might be one of those. I love Swoons artwork, personality and her presence towards the movement, so this can hopefully make us spend some time glued to the screen. Sadly, and via Dave the Chimp himself, he got cuted out of the movie in the end!

“Art in Movement” (translated) is a project from CARRIS to promote public art, in which, several artists where invited to intervene in the elevators spread around Lisboa. Alexandre Farto (Vhils), Susana Mendes Silva, Vasco Araújo and Susana Anágua were the chosen artists to work in this commemorative event of the CARRIS birthday. I was able to catch up with Vhils and will post some exclusive work in progress shots after the inauguration. More tomorrow…
