This is what drives me to go online, the quickness and the results you can have with the right search. So, this was how this post was gonna be like yesterday night: “I have no idea on how this project showed up, but I’m loving it. If someone knows anything about this project, please let me know. “. But, after an hour of researching and bouncing from site, to picasa accounts, to flickrs and back to websites, I ended up on the right path. Although this is a project from last year, it stunned me when I first saw these pics that Encore took last week, leaving me eager to find out more. “Mouraria on mosaics” is a project from Camilla Watson, a photographer that learned the tricks of liquid photo emulsion on mosaics.

Last week I showed you a piece from artist Diego Miedo that appeared up in the streets of Lisboa. This week, artist Encore while on his quick stay here, got to browse the streets quite a lot and ended up finding 3 other pieces from him.

German artist Encore was in town for a few days, and we just met last week for a nice chat. While here, he also left some paste ups around the city. He was kind enough to send some flicks of the paste-ups as well as share some stories from his days in Lisboa.

The Lisboa team faced the Malmo guys last Saturday in Santa Cruz beach. You can check what went down as well as the final result inside. The Portuguese team was made of Add fuel to the fire, Propaganda 31 and Chure. Not being able to be there, André Resende was the man behind the shots.

This is by far the biggest Random Lisa edition we had. Pedro Seixo Rodrigues went for some of his archive pics and left quite some discoveries. A huge set of pics from bits and pieces of Lisboa streetart. There’s even a Vhils piece inside from some years now that I bet most of you won’t recognize. Costah has recently been to Marrocos, and while leaving some pieces in the streets, he also made a cool video capturing the essence of the country. Jump inside for pics and video.

And then sometimes on the less known streets that you might pass by now and then, there’s new artworks to look at on all different medias. Paste ups, ink painting & spray in new and old works, all in the same street.

Not much is going on in Portugal at the moment, as summer here strikes hard and the only thing people think about is hitting the beach and drink some beers at a nice place (can you blame us?). Although August is usually a vacations period, Paulo Arraiano and Leonor Morais have been involved in a project that will see that light of days (litteraly) this Friday 20th, tomorrow. Another good note on this project, is that it isn’t centralized in Lisboa or Porto, but rather in one of the islands of Açores. Too bad it’s just too far for us on the main land.

Secret Wars is back, and this Saturday night will be the quarter finals for the European League. Still on the run are Southampton & Amsterdam who might be our next challengers if we pass the quarter finals. So, if you have the chance go and support the national team. Info inside.

Bench. opened their gallery this past Saturday with a street art event. Artists were invited to take part on this new kick start to the gallery space, and Miss K was there to take some shots as usual. A big thanks to her once again.
