Sometimes that’s what it makes me smile towards a work. The details or the little story behind a what may seam like a regular work. It gets your attention, and you go crazy about it. I just finished reading this little talk between Brad Downey and Dave the Chimp, towards a book they’re creating. Please give it a read inside, or inside Brad Downey website. There’s also been a lot of talk on his latest work, where Brad did a huge Mac logo on a wall. Just like that, plain and simple logo with tagline. Mac had nothing to do with it nor gave in some money. It took me some time, but I’ll still leave some links to one of the best show still happening in LA. “How to blow yourself up” is the latest exhibition from WK Interact over at Subliminal Projects. You can find all about it, plus check lot’s of pictures here and here. There’s also a video inside the post. How I wish it was here, and I sure as hell need his new book.

So this is the first batch of pictures from the work in progress of VSP, so don’t expect much since the first part is always… filling in the blanks, meaning, it’s time to paint walls!

On the past Saturday, I hooked up with Pedro Matos and some friends over at the new Bristol Lisboa Gallery, to see the new space people were talking about. A nice cosy little gallery, but still big enough to fit all those heavy-weight artists straight out of Bristol. This first exhibition is here to show the works of six street artists, selected by the originality and wide variety found in Bristols fine street art. That said, the gallery has such names as Will Barras, Mr. Jago, Felix Braun, Mag1c, Lucas Price and Xenz (who had also been here before for the VSP event). Luckily I had the pleasure to talk to Nuno Tempero (one of the founders of the gallery) who quickly had the kindness to also put us in touch via skype with Alves Messias (the other founder who currently lives in Britstol) for a nice evening talk with everybody participating. Without a doubt, don’t miss this spot. Worth watching specially if you’ve never had the chance to see any live work from these artists. For more info,check the website.
