This is such a great video. Maybe there’s more people out there who doesn’t know it either.

If I was ever to use a helmet and a watch, these would probably be the ones…
Snyper (to go along with “Target” eheh) watch and Diesel helmet with a mohawk.

“I had a dream. A dream where humans and designers could co-exist. Where everybody knew somebody, but nobody really knew anyone. A place where futility and eccentricity where not an objection to achieve greatness. Where like minded people were not putting on the same sneakers, but were actually all thinking the same. And in this dream, there too was an apple™ just like in Adam & Eve, only this one had been trademarked.
This is failing. This was failing gracefully. OFFF’09″

Give me a screen where I can write anything, and have the chance to show 3500 people something, and I’m sure to take the piss out of it. @OFFFIWISH was a good idea that came out from Torke, and I really enjoyed playing with it. I started out nicely, with simple stupid messages, but then… there was one I couldn’t resist. Take a cult tvshow that you believe 3500 designers possibly know about, and give it the ultimate spoiler.
And the audience went wild!! Hands in the air pointing, giggles all around, calling next friend to watch. (Well, in least in my head it did). And then I got an answer from @cavi: “please, don’t joke about serious things like Lost!
”. E feel you cavi!

Right out of OFFF, the last day was probably the weakest in terms of presentations. I’m taking in account that whoever is presenting, must have the minimal sensibility to find out if the audience is falling asleep or not. Either choose a different approach, or tell us something we don’t know just by looking at your website. We do know your website, so there’s no point in showing it all over again like it’s something new. Show us your methods, your particularities, your secret confidences and you’re pretty much assured to succeed. So, Stefan Sagmeister was that surprise for me today. Had no idea on what I was about to see, so getting a giant Austrian in a polka-dot dress to give a wonderful lecture on happiness was the cherry on top. Here’s a video on TED talks. More OFFF in Lisbon please!

Well, 2nd day and the morning couldn’t have started any better. Portuguese guys really kicked ass, but ALVA made their brilliant video to promote their work and stood out the most. By the afternoon some good presentations were given, like PES great stop motion works, Paula Scher which I just loved to listen to, with such a great awareness for her self work and world, and Joshua Davis of course, who always makes such an impressive speech/stand up presentation. But aside from Joshua Davis, who most should already know his speeches, and since he’s constantly improving, you should really see him live, so today it’s ALVA ALVA and again, another video.

Back from the first day of OFFF’09, I’m happy to say there was large improvements since last year, regarding the sound/video and facilities. Unfortunately, the hold back to get the tickets lost me the first two acts of the morning. But all in all was a good show, with all the amazing tech around. UVA was pretty good, James Paterson + Amit Pitaru did an awesome and really enjoyable lecture and finally Chris Milk, who unfortunately wasn’t such a great speaker, but his work speaked for him. And it’s from Milk itself that I leave you with today’s inspiration entitled “The Last Dream” a 42 seconds short movie. Enjoy, and see you tomorrow…

Well, it’s official. OFFF is starting, and I’m on my way to pick up my “ticket”. Catch y’all here!
