“In an effort to establish new platforms for public art and performance, the multimedia duo SWEATSHOPPE has developed a new interactive technology that enables them to explore the relationship between video, mark making and architecture. Dubbed “video painting”, this technology allows them to essentially “paint” video onto any surface. Shooting in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, the duo spent weeks documenting their work in urban settings to create “The Landing” the first in a series of episodes that showcases their work as artist, technologist and performers.”

Gallery 1988 in San Francisco has a new show, and this “Angry Woebots” wall with it’s raving pandas is a killer. Love it! See the pics from the “Happy Day” event for yourself.

“We Were Once A Fairytale” is a short film directed by Spike Jonze and starring Kanye West. The short was intended to be the videoclip for “See you in my nightmares”, but then, instead of a clip it became a 14m short film that got debuted @ The Los Angeles Film Festival.

Well, another year went by and lot’s of paint was dropped (as usual) on the old Mondet factory wall. Once again, Seixal was the stage for the main graffiti event of the year. I could only make it for the last day of the weekend, so not many “work in progress” photos as last year, but you can catch a gallery of some of the pics from the event.

And don’t forget, Meeting of Styles this weekend @ Seixal (old Mundet factories).

Just received the news yesterday, and it’s with great sadness that the announcement came. FAILE won’t be exhibiting their work as scheduled for this year. The good news is, they will come to Lisboa, most likely next summer. So… we’ll wait with great anticipation, and to cheer up the day, more news from the guys. New artworks entitled “Wood Paintings”.
