“Beyond walls / Além paredes” has been a huge success since it’s debut. The group show, currently still showing at António Prates Gallery until May 12th, has invited 11 urban artists to exhibit their work. As one of the artists myself (Target), was a pleasure to have worked with people I admire for long time. Go inside to find the pieces of Costah, Dalaiama, EL ST, ±MaisMenos±, Mar, Maria Imaginário, Pantonio, Ram, Robert Proch, Target & YUP/Paulo Arraiano, as well as photos from the night and the wonderful video shot by André Matos Cardoso with production by Homem Bala.

Last week, GonçaloMar debuted his new solo show “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibilities” over at Montana Lisboa, heavily inspired in comics and superheroes. The show was heavily packed, and the artwork was just overwhelming. Loving these new pieces by MAR. In antecipation of his new solo show coming tonight (info here), GonçaloMar was invited by Balneário to paint one of the sides of Lx Factory. A new piece by MAR has been spotted in an abandoned house, in Vagueira.

The WOOL festival has finished it’s first event, with the ARM collective spending some days in Covilhã painting night and day. Locals would stop by everyday to enjoy the developing of the main piece. They have taken in to account the surrounding church when painting their main piece, and that is visible by the illusion of tiles (Portuguese azulejo) used to blend in with the church’s near façade. Along the side walls, there’s also visible some small annotations, lost like a treasure map with small words of sayings and ways to pronounce words in Covilhã. All in all, probably the best ARM collective work I’ve seen so far and the best way to kick off a festival. All pics have been taken by Pedro Seixo Rodrigues, one of the mentors of the project. GrafikWalls (mentioned here) made a pop up show on October 1st. Was nice to catch up with some of the artists, and to take a look in person of how the project was going. Catch a sample of what happened on that day.

GrafikWalls is a new project that aims to gather a collective of urban artists and with them to conceive author wallpapers for home decoration thanks to the collaboration with Pedro & Osório, by the mind of João Rei. You can check some samples inside, as well as take the date for the official presentation coming next week at Montana Shop.

ARM collective travelled to Casablanca, Marrocos and left a big piece done with the spray cans they could find in the local shops. Took them a day to complete.

The ARM collective was also part of the Walk & Talk, and have left another excellent piece from their story in the walls of Açores. The mix between Mar & Ram have been evolving in the past years, and the result can easily be seen in these new works either indoors or outdoors. Great job!
