One of the posts missing for quite some time, but just want to leave it for the archive, as this was one of the best pieces at GAU this year. Rotten Leftovers in Lisboa.

One of the latest interventions from EIME, done for the GAU project. Check the final wall and a small video with clips made in the making of.

Just got notice of this video by João Retorta, on the making of GAU #4 in Lisboa. Filmed on the spot, many of the artists who gave birth to this latest edition can be seen on the video, with the support of Dedicated Lisboa. Jump inside for the video.

The artists selected to give birth to the 4th edition of GAU have finished their panels, and as usual, this Friday the 15th will be the inauguration date, with the artists present at the location, live paintings and music on the spot. It wasn’t possible to check the making of the pieces last week, but after a quick visit to the location, I’m now leaving you the finished walls inside. You can find a big batch of photos from the making of those panels by Cátia Barbosa on the official blog.

GAU (Galeria Arte Urbana) is calling for artists to show their proposals for the renewal of their Lisboa panels.
Some pics of the past editions can be seen here.

This Friday 14th is the official date for the GAU (Galeria de Arte Urbana) with Pariz One & Mr. Dheo. As usual, GAU takes place at Calçada da Glória, Lisboa and will have live painting, Dj set and also a book launch. Flyer inside.

The latest edition of GAU is now complete, with all the 7 billboards finished. Pariz One and Mr. Dheo painted live from the 23rd to the 30th of April. The proposal “7:00PM Deadly Sins” takes on the theme of the seven deadly sins: vanity, luxury, sloth, envy, glutony, greed and anger, in an urban art intervention done with 7 days of work, 7 central characters, 7 words, 7 colors, 7 sins and 7 billboards.

GAU is once again undergoing, but instead of a contest like the previous editions, 2 writers were invited to fill up the 7 billboards along the Santa Just lift in Lisboa. There’s live paintings until this Friday 30th, so show up if you’re around.

As the year is coming to an end, I believe it’s important to remember what has passed by this website along the year and also to make a tradition for the next year to come.
So whether it’s a Portuguese event or a Portuguese artwork, as long as it was done by Portuguese artists even if outside of Portugal, I’m setting here my highlights for the year 2009.
I’ll be splitting this into two categories with the events first, and second the artists who made a bigger fuss in this year! So, carry on inside ladies and gentlemen…
