Amsterdam ended up beating Lisboa 2-1, and Birmingham defeated London, so Amsterdam and London came out as the final teams.

Lisboa ended up winning Malmo by 2 to 1. 5 – 1 in the two rounds. Next up, the semi-finals vs Amsterdam.

Enter the journey

South of England, Bournemouth, the hideout for many elder people who pick this amazing “God’s waiting room”. After some plane hours until London and another pair of hours on a bus trip heading to Bournemouth, we finally got to our destination.


Kebabs everywhere!

After some hours of sleep, the day began very early with a little tour around the city. On the 20th of June, everything was happening in Bournemouth with the Father’s day, Race against cancer, World cup games and… another Secret Wars battle….

Shortly after midday, Hadley (one of BEST|EVER members) has prepared us a little surprise and took us on a wonderful walk till New Forest, a small reserv 30m from Bournemouth.

With a typically English lunch the afternoon was made of rest and inspiration, surrounded of green fields, cows, horses and so many other animals.

Around 21h close to the battle, he had plenty of ideas and sketches done.

Facing a not so crowded audience, the Edding black ink started to spread around the big white canvas.

We ended up by wining another point outside our hometown, but losing by 2-1.

In a few days, we’ll have the next battle in Portuguese soil again and this time against the Birmingham team.
The quarter finals is already assured.


And personally, I still don’t get the Nando’s joke. It’s a god damn English franchise, so what’s that got to do with Portuguese culture? It’s not like we eat chicken and burgers all day here. Just saying…

The Result

Kusca and Nomen unanimously decided for the home team, and the crowd followed up giving Portugal a total of 3 points on this battle. Another enjoyable event to take place in Lisboa, with the next one in Portugal scheduled for Faro.
Let’s wait for it…

The trip

With the departure scheduled for 16h30 heading to Madrid to catch the connection flight for Berlin at 19h55, we saw our plans going down when we only landed in Madrid at 20h. Ended up sleeping in Spain with some time on our hands to get to know the other team. With our lesson studied, we got to Berlin to find a beautiful day of 20 something degrees.
After a nice turkish lunch it was time for a little walk through Alexanderplatz, Brandenburg and a some other places.

The battle

The battle started at 19h30 to the sound of Dj Sara and later with our very own Dj Glue.

Amongst sausages, the mitical Berlin wall, the famous bear, typical car, some german crews and many other details, the crowd was getting impressed with the draw that was finally growing on our wall.











90m later, a little break was done for the jury to decide.
The first vote went to Lisboa by a respectable curator. After that vote, it was the time to listen what the crowd had to say, and surprisingly enough, the second vote was also ours, giving us the victory of this battle. The final vote was from Sebastian Marian, a German writer, giving it to the home team.

The Result

With a 2-1 victory against Berlin, Lisboa is now in the 2nd position of it’s group, which grants us the chance to go to the next phase of the Euroleague. We’ll see how the next battles go.
The next battle will be in May with Lisboa against the German team. We’re waiting for your support!

On with the night…

And so, the people screamed for the victory

After 2 votes for the Portuguese team, given by YouthOne and Caos (Juries) the last vote was upon the audience.

After hearing the screams for each team, the Lisboa team added another point, making a total of 3 to none for this battle.

Beginning of the journey

Flight: Lisboa 19h50m – Gatwick 22h30m
Battle: Birmingham 00h30m

Keeping on schedule would already be hard, but with a 5h delay due to the Paris air strike, it just became impossible.

We finally got to Birmingham at 6h30m, way overdue…

After waking up, we gathered with Terry who informed us we’d have a different kind of battle. With the bar packed on the previous night, waiting for the best team on Euro Liga Secret Wars (our team), it was decided to enjoy half a dozen beers and the support of the locals to get it started.

Instead of 6 artist on stage, music, warm funky environment and a full house as an habitué, our first E.L. Secret Wars was on an empty bar, cold, drinking coffee and milk and with half the wall covered so that we couldn’t see what the other team had done.


The first drafts came out to the sound of Carlos Paredes. Mar, the oldest and more experienced in the “battle field” started to coordinate his team members Chure and Tosco.

Birmingham – a different battle

Amongst cartoons, monsters and words, our wall was starting to get shape and at the same time, some brave ones who’d been there last night started to show up to see what was being done.



The curiosity to see what was behind the huge black sheet that covered the Birmingham team wall was big, but still, we had to wait for the end of the 90 minutes.



They told us to be agressive with Birmingham but we had no idea what was coming…

End result

“He Who Laughs Last, Laughs Hardest” So, this time they won 3-0.

Lunch and Graff afternoon

After a lunch in Birmingham Chinatown, the rest of the day was spent in front of the Lower Trinity wall.




Here, we’ve met one of our adversaries, Fourty Eight, since other 2 where out of town working.




Temperature was great and amongst beer and sprays, time flew by. The locals hospitality was ace.
