Oscar nominated for best documentary Banksy’s “Exit through the gift shop” movie is finally coming to Portugal’s screens. The debut is set to happen on May 26th, but specially for the readers of the blog and together with Midas Filmes (the official movie distributor in Portugal), we’ll be giving away 3 double entry tickets to attend the premiere preview of the movie on the 24th (9.30pm) at UCI El Corte Ingles.Info on how to get a hold of the tickets inside.

Clearly inspired by Banksy, this stencil just showed up near the Sta Apolónia station in Lisboa.

Since most of you may know, today is the day most americans will have the pleasure of watching one of most talked about movies in the art world this year. But as expected, Portugal is not looking for a brighter future in the waiting line of the countries that will host the movie. I mean, what’s the percentage of Portuguese people who know Banksy, and would thus make a good share of possible audience for the Portuguese cinema? On the other hand, if it was a Cristiano Ronaldo movie…

Well, looks like Banksy has putted up a new cinema for people to see the movie before the 5th of March (official cinemas date in the UK), which is being called as the “London’s newest, darkest and dirtiest purpose built cinema”, and you can book tickets for the screening online.
UPDATE: sold out

By what it seems, Guardian has a new clip surfacing the web from the new “Exit Through the Gift Shop” Banksy movie.

Although Banksy’s movie is on top of my list, and sadly I’ll miss the premiere for 2 days while in London, there’s new documentaries/movies worth watching and this might be one of those. I love Swoons artwork, personality and her presence towards the movement, so this can hopefully make us spend some time glued to the screen. Sadly, and via Dave the Chimp himself, he got cuted out of the movie in the end!
