Was just about to sleep…

When I saw this!

“Head #01? is an animated sculpture / installation by the artist Carl Krull. It is the first in what is intended to become a whole “family” of heads.

As a real fan of Google as I am, I couldn’t see the day that Lisbon would finally have Google Street View active, as it was already of the knowledge of everybody, that the Google cars were in town and it was only a matter of time till it did.
So, yesterday was the day of the official launch (I think) and right in the first day, somebody caught up to this special framed piece in Parque Eduardo VII, a known for “getting business done” kind of place, with the big phallic statue on the right and the funny as hell (though innocent) right time photo. Please more…
This just made my day sound nicer…
“Calvin performs a version of his new single Ready For The Weekend on a unique human synthesizer. The instrument employs 15 bikini clad models painted with Bare Conductive, a new skin safe ink which conducts electricity. When the performers touch the connection completes a circuit, triggering a sound.”

OFFF made it public via email that the next year won’t be in Portugal again, sadly.
Tickets at the price of 155€ (by now) and choosing an expensive city, makes it a lot harder to go this time (and the fact that I don’t know any Paris friend to crash in). Bring back Lisbon or Barcelona, eheh.
“After Barcelona, New York, Lisbon and Oeiras, we are glad to announce that OFFF 2010 will take place in Paris, France, on the 24, 25 and 26 of June 2010. It is an exciting challenge and a very special way to celebrate a decade of post-digital creation. The amazing venue will be “La Grande Halle de La Vilette”.”

On another note, related to the latest “light graffiti” subjects coming up, this project has a really good idea for when the battery rans out.
“Halo is a handy light specially dedicated to light-writting. Graffiti artists can conserve their own gesture they have with an aerosol spray. It is possible to change the color and the brightness of the led to change the graffiti’s styles. If the light doesn’t have enough battery, the user must shake it to have energy again.”
Following up on the project WiiSpray from Martin, now a new version with stencils is being tested.
Wii Spray Stencil ®
is one of some new powerfull tools that will advance your creative possibilities in a really tangible way! Use your images as Stencil, simpel by upload to the web-interface!
Multitouch Barcelona, after beeing in Lisbon with their Space Invaders project showcased @ OFFF just did it again with their latest video, with a Real Human Interface.

In the same subject of new tech, and in response to Todd Vanderlin’s AR scratching, here’s another experiment, and this time an iPhone app that uses the accelerometer to control the speed of a ‘vinyl record’ on the iPhone screen.
Still a bit crazy to spin the iPhone out of control to play the vinyl, but a pretty cool attempt as well.
More from Theodore Watson.
