With the night starting, I headed out to Nimas to finally see “Women are heroes” by JR. I only knew what I’ve seen from the trailer and some more from the TED talks, but nothing could prepare me for this. As we sit down, a member from the theater announces JR is not present, but that he would be by the end of the movie for a talk. At this point, I feared he would not be showing up, due to some occasion, but that happily did not happen. The movie starts…

It’s with great joy that I leave this announcement, as JR is coming to grace us with his movie “Women are heroes” and do a speech in Lisboa this Sunday. Inserted in the Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival, this is one not to miss if you’re a fan of streetart. JR has also won the TED prize awards earlier this year, so finally being able to see the movie in Lisboa is a delight. Info, trailer and poster inside, or for the fb event check here.

“You can’t see” is the new solo show by Eime coming right this week. After two years without doing a solo exhibition, Eime returns with some new stencil works. Flyer and info inside.

Dedicated Store Lisboa is about to turn two years old, and to celebrate it, Parque Mayer will be hosting the “Writers Delight” from today till Sunday. Some of the artists such as Mr. Dheo and Mosaik featured several times on the blog will be present, as well as many other international artists. More info inside.

One of the latest pieces by Maria Imaginário showed here from “After the Utopia” show by Plasticina, is going for auction at the Dreweatts for the Urban Contemporary Art Auction. This auction has numerous pieces by Banksy, Obey. DFace, Faile and so many others, it’s a pleasure to see a Portuguese artist has made it to the list as well.

Proud to announce that a new urban art festival is about to begin, outside of the main cities of Portugal. WOOL is the name of the festival to take place in Covilhã, and it’s a pun between the word WOOL and its near-homophone WALL. Artists like ARM collective, Vhils, Btoy and the Inside Out project by JR are already part of the festival, which will have several on going events during the next months. It’s sure to say that more surprises will pop up in Covilhã soon. Poster and video teaser inside.

Experimenta Design is kicking off this Wednesday with the exhibition JOIO and Pedro Campiche akaCorleone is one of the invited artists. He’ll be exhibiting at the old Tribunal Boa Hora in Lisboa. Teaser pics and flyer inside.

GrafikWalls is a new project that aims to gather a collective of urban artists and with them to conceive author wallpapers for home decoration thanks to the collaboration with Pedro & Osório, by the mind of João Rei.
