And the Underdogs book is finally online. The book, a work with research and writing by Miguel Moore, journalist and author connected to urban art, and art direction and design by Miguel Januário, graphic designer and urban artist, takes a look at the work of the artists included in this first show of the Underdogs platform: ± (mais menos), Adres, Kusca, Mar, Obey, Ram, Smart Bastard, Sphiza, Tosco and Alexandre Farto/Vhils. The Underdogs who had their debut show some weeks ago, will be releasing their new book this next Friday and along with the artists on the spot, Orelha Negra will also perform a dj set through the night. More info, teaser pics of the book and flyer inside.
Due to the fact that I’m currently out of town, I had to miss the inauguration day of “The Organic Flow Of Drawing”, The Artwork of Yup | Paulo Arraiano, at Montana Shop & Gallery. Although I couldn’t be present for this day, Dflektor snapped some good shots of the night.

Sometimes that’s what it makes me smile towards a work. The details or the little story behind a what may seam like a regular work. It gets your attention, and you go crazy about it. I just finished reading this little talk between Brad Downey and Dave the Chimp, towards a book they’re creating. Please give it a read inside, or inside Brad Downey website. There’s also been a lot of talk on his latest work, where Brad did a huge Mac logo on a wall. Just like that, plain and simple logo with tagline. Mac had nothing to do with it nor gave in some money. Ok, I really have to take the hat to this guy Michael “RJ” Rushmore, who’s an eighteen year old young living and working in London, and also the founder of Vandalog. This guy is simply curating an exhibition with all the big names out there. Just to name some of the big roll, there’s Adam Neate, Aiko, Anthony Lister, Banksy, Barry McGee, Blek le Rat, Elbow-toe, Faile, Futura 2000, Gaia, Herakut, Kaws, Os Gêmeos, Sam3, Shepard Fairey, Skewville, Swoon, WK Interact amongst others. Alongside all this, there’s also a book coming out with the same name “The Thousands”. Really… wow!
