Walk & Talk, the urban art festival in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel island, Açores (Azores) invited a huge number of urban artists and illustrators to give the city some color. Pantónio just left me with some pics from his interventions, and many more will follow from other artists ending up on a global view of the city festival post. Artist Pantónio decided to go with only black and white due to the strong presence of the volcanic rock. As it’s a fisherman’s land right next to the spot, the customization of a boat was a request done by Pantónio that suited perfectly for his work. Some other spots of abandoned places inside, and more.
It’s with great pleasure that I leave you with a wonderful project I’ve been following closely. Add fuel to the fire has reinvented Portuguese tradition, with his personal touch to the Portuguese tiles. Check images and a video inside, of some of the tiles that can also be seen on the streets of Lisboa. These goodies are flying fast!
Alexandre Farto aka Vhils has just been to Italy’s famous FAME Festival for this 2011 edition, and as usual has left his mark on the streets. Even better, is that this time Angelo, the man behind the festival, has made a small clip for Vhils in progress works. A funny video to watch, and do follow the festival news for more updates on many more artists.
Last month I had already left some of Vhils work he was doing in Berlin. I wasn’t aware at the time that those pieces were part of a Levi’s project, which can now be seen online. The small clip has the very special collaboration of Portuguese band Orelha Negra, who created a unique sound that to be feature in their new album. Take a look at the videos, to fully understand the story behind the images.
Stephan Doitschinoff aka CALMA opened to the public his latest installation / performance in Lisboa this Saturday. The audience gathered for some time before the show, and when the preparations were done, we started lining up by the alley along the walls. A temple was built, and the performance would then complete the piece inside one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Lisboa, Mouraria. Check this great interview (PT only) with Stephan at Janela Urbana to better understand his research, work and religious symbols. Inside this post, a sample of what the performance was like, a one in a life time event.

It’s with great pleasure we welcome Stephan Doitschinoff aka CALMA to perform one of his installations in Lisboa, that can be seen this Thursday. Stephan’s work is part of the Urban Festival Pedras d’Água, an yearly event by “Centro em Movimento” realized in public spaces in the centre of Lisboa. More information inside, as well as two examples of previous work conceived for several USA shows.
Sphiza has recently left a new piece on the streets, following on the style of two older pieces left inside the post as well.

Alexandre Farto aka Vhils has been travelling a lot, and with those travels usually come new work. He has just left a new piece on the streets of São Paulo.
