“Reality Show” the new exhibition from Portuguese artist Pedro Matos that took place last night at Montana Shop & Gallery was a success. SOLD OUT are the words to retain on this amazing show that will most likely push him to another level on the art community. The place was packed as it’s becoming a standard from Montana’s exhibitions and happy to see people getting out more and more for art events. With huge skills I have no doubt this kid will go far!

Before leaving Lisboa, SAM3 went for Bairro Alto and the surroundings of the city to leave us with some more artwork on the streets. Pleased to have met him, and that there’s more of his stuff on the streets. With some luck, he was pleased to have been in Lisboa and will get back soon. Let’s wait and see, but in the meanwhile here’s what can be found on the streets and also on his blog.

These works were done in Los Angeles during the past week, and are one of the best collaborations I’ve seen all year.

Since most of you may already have seen around, the Gémeos, Blu and SAM3 facades are over and this is the right time to get them back. I’m bringing the final pics from what can be found for anyone who visits the street, but in addition I’m also providing the info behind this project. CRONO is the name, and has just kicked of with some of the biggest names in the street art world. It was a wonderful experience to have met all these artists and this was just the beginning, so jump inside to know all about it.

Another piece to show up in Lisboa by Os Gémeos. This time around Adamastor, in Sta Catarina garden, one of the hot spots to spend time in the summer. Go check it for yourself.

While running around Bairro Alto last week with a friend, we came across a small stencil from Monsieur Chat, to which we quickly said “hum, don’t think it’s true. There’s Banksy’s small rats here too, must be a copy”. Turns out, Monsieur Chat has been in Lisboa and there’s video to prove it. He hit’d Parque Mayer with what is truly his signature, big yellow cats smiling back to the people. Check the video inside. Just wished I’d knew he was around…

On the very same week that I found out all Portuguese tiles from my local library had been stolen (they had been taken down for restoration, but have been stolen in the meanwhile), I also came across this project that turns the concrete wall left abandoned, and revisits it in the form of stencil, filling the gaps in between that our Portuguese heritage hasn’t been able to. Recuperarte (Recover+Art) is the name of the project.

“Alterego” is the latest exhibition from Mr. Dheo, and since it was in Porto and I couldn’t be there for the show, Miss K so kindly took the time to take some pics from the show to display for all. Jump inside for the pics.

Some works that seem to have passed by me unnoticed are the amazing posters created by Janina Brandão last summer, with a take on the state of the art in Portugal, for her final school project. This was done in Porto and is exactly what I wanna see being done more and more in Portugal. Good works showing up on the streets.
